In a video posted on Twitter, evangelist Franklin Graham called on Christians in the country to pray for the nation, reports Premier Christian News.
“I’m announcing today that on Sept. 26, I’m going to be in our nation’s capital to pray – & I hope thousands of families, pastors, & churches will join me,” Graham captioned the video.
Calling the event, ‘Prayer March 2020,’ the respected pastor urged Christian families to join him in a two-hour walk from Lincoln Memorial to the US capitol building. “We’re gonna pray for this nation. Our only hope for this country is God,” he added.

Graham lamented that, “America is in trouble, it’s in distress, but we do have hope and that hope is in almighty God. We need to pray now more than ever, more than we’ve ever done in our life. Our communities are hurting, our people are divided and there’s fear and uncertainty all around us.”
He told fellow believers that September 26 is a day to pray for the country and its leaders. Christians are urged to ask for God’s intervention as the country face the Coronavirus pandemic among other ills in society.
In the Todd Starnes Radio Show, Graham warned listeners that, “Our country is deteriorating. We are in a nose dive. If God doesn’t save us, there is no hope.”
The pastor criticized the decisions of some states, such as California, which banned church singing and reciting of the Lord’s Prayer, then later on closed churches to the public in a bid to curb the spread of the virus. “They shut down churches down. They didn’t want the pastor’s voice. Anybody that’s a threat – you shut them down.”
Graham told Christians in America, “So let’s join together and do the most important thing, and that is to pray.”
