To commemorate significant periods in Jewish history and to celebrate the vibrancy of the state of Israel, Jewish Federation of Palm Beaches will host the fifth annual IsraelDays and has extended an invitation to the Christian community in the Palm Beaches to participate.
Our community has such a passion and love of Israel so we are thrilled to bring even more Israeli culture to the Palm Beaches in 2019 ~Yaara Levy, Israeli Emissary to Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County
Led by the Federation’s new Israel Program Center, IsraelDays features an expanded schedule that now includes a brand-new 5K and community celebration for Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) and a free photo exhibition called Humans of Tel Aviv. A Yom Ha’Shoah program also will be held in remembrance of the Holocaust and a film screening and panel discussion will commemorate Israel’s Memorial Day during Yom Ha’Zikaron.
“IsraelDays is a meaningful opportunity for the entire community to gather and experience the culture, diversity and history of Israel in ways that are relevant to them,” shared Yaara Levy, Israeli Emissary to Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, a role where she is spending two years in the Palm Beaches to serve as a ‘living bridge’ between the two countries.
“Our community has such a passion and love of Israel so we are thrilled to bring even more Israeli culture to the Palm Beaches in 2019.”
During Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Federation’s Israel Program Center will showcase Israeli artist and photographer Erez Kaganovitz’s renowned Humans of Tel Aviv photographic exhibition.
Previously showcased at various Palm Beach County schools and temples including Temple Judea, Temple Torat Emet and Temple Beth Torah, the exhibition features enlarged photos of street scenes from throughout Tel Aviv that showcase the diversity of Israelis beyond the traditional.
The Humans of Tel Aviv project reaches 500,000 people each month through its digital outreach efforts. For more information on times and dates the exhibit will be open to the public, the public should contact Peter Eckstein, Director, Israel Programming at 561-209-2611 or [email protected].
